Turning 28~

Saturday was not only the day of Brad and Angelina had their baby girl, it was also my 28th birthday. I know that's not as news worthy and all, but I had a great day.
Travis learned last year how important birthdays are to me- or more importantly how important my birthday is. I not only have a birthday day, but I draw it out to be a birthday weekend and a birthday week. I would have a birthday month but Travis cuts off my week with his birthday 5 days after mine. Oh, the sacrifices I make in marriage. ;)
It was a great day and Travis pampered me all the way. He started on Friday with my favorite flowers- pink roses and a birthday card from Phoenix. (It's the kitty card you see on the table.)
Then Saturday we went to my favorite breakfast spot- Nellie's at a resort here in Scottsdale that I love. It was so crowded due to the Memorial Day weekend, I have never seen it so busy, but it was still good. Then we did some shopping before crashing for a long nap. Then for a late lunch I had an ice cream sunday from Cold Stone because it's my birthday and all.
I got a sweet card from Travis and Jacob and the 2 cd's I wanted. Travis also took me to one of our favorite restaurants- Mastro's Steakhouse for dinner. It was so good.
I also received lots of birthday calls and cards from friends and family. Thank you everyone, I had a great brithday. :)

I only have a few days left of my birthday week before Travis turns 30 and I am soaking it up!

The house~

This is the house,-we are very thankful to have found it. It's in Tempe (a suburb of Phoenix), and when Trav's office moves to Tempe in the summer Travis will only have a 13 minute drive to the office. Thankfully he will be very close. As you can see its a rock yard which is good for us since our mower is at our Dallas home. It's a 2 car garage-the picture cuts off so you can't tell.

This is the front living room. Here is the view from the front door as you step in.

This is the den off the Kitchen and the Kitchen.

And here is the master bedroom and the guest bathroom. I didn't bother getting a shot of the master bath or the bed rooms. It's a 3 bedroom 2 bath room home with a study off the living room that could be a 4th bedroom if needed. Which will be handy for all the guests we are having this summer. :)

Yay! I can't wait to move in and start setting up.

Looking down on us~

I don't know how she got up there. I have never seen her up there before. I was eating breakfast while watching the morning news and I looked over to see her just checking out the view from above. She is loving having boxes everywhere and space on all the tables to lay down with out something being in her way. I think she thinks we have packed everything up just to give her this new playground.

34 weeks along~

Week 34 and we finally found a house. Praise God it didn't take that long. We haven't signed the lease yet, probably will on Friday, so hopefully nothing will fall through and cause us to start over. After we sign the lease I will get a picture to post for everyone to see.
In the mean time we started our childbirth classes- which are very lame, but hopefully we will get something out of them and learn something useful we didn't know.
Sunday we went to the hospital to see where we are going to be delivering and it's a good thing we checked it out because it took us a while to find the labor and delivery area of the hospital. I am already registered, but we were there after hours so there wasn't anybody around to point us in the right direction. Plus there were no signs anywhere that said "Labor and Delivery". Nothing! Finally we grabbed a paper map by an elevator and found "Family Birthing Center" but couldn't find where it was. (It wasn't a very useful map!) So, we just kept walking around expecting to find it when we heard a woman crying out in pain. Next we saw her - big pregnant - bent over in pain rounding the corner pushed by her husband in a wheel chair. We just looked at each other in surprise at what total luck we had and said follow that woman. So, thanks to her, we found the "Family Birthing Center" and now know where we need to go.

33 weeks

We are 33 weeks this week- It is so hot here already and it's still May. Yesterday we got a break from the 101 degree day with a storm in the early evening that made it so Travis and I could go for a walk outside. It was so nice. Today, 102- I will be walking at the mall.
We are still house hunting, hoping something turns up fast as I am getting anxious.

Jackpot!

Well this morning Phoenix got a new tie since we opened a new milk, and as usual it was gone under the fridge within minutes. Travis took pity on her and got a hanger and did probably 2-3 sweeps with the hanger from under the front of the fridge and this is what he found.
Phoenix hit the Jackpot!

But here is how they get lost again: She starts playing with them and they get over by the front of the fridge, like this pink one in front of her, and when she dive bombs it, they get pushed under the fridge.

Well, she has a lot right now, so she should be good for up to an hour. :)

Operation Pack!

I started my 8th month this week: 32 weeks along.
Travis was traveling this week for work (his last trip until Jake arrives), so I just tore into packing to give me something to do and I made a huge dent in what needs to be done. Phoenix loved it! She had to get in every box and hide under every sheet of tissue paper. She was loving it.

I would have kept going but I ran out of boxes.

"Roll Over"

We have taught Phoenix to roll over in this position every time we come home. It's really cute. She will come from wherever she is to see us, then she will stretch and roll over. That's when we cheer and tell her how pretty she is and she will stretch out her arms and to have us scratch her under arms.
This is also the position she goes to when she wants attention. An example would be if Travis is hugging me, Phoenix will get jealous and go to where he can see her behind my back and lay just like this to get him to come over to her. It's so funny. We laugh so hard when she does this. It's so cute! She also looks like she is smiling in this picture if you look closely. :)

Mystery Gift????

We got this gift for Jacob in the mail about a month ago from our baby registry. However, when it came there was no packing slip that let us know who the sender was. I contacted Amazon the next day and they said that the sender didn't' fill out a message and they couldn't tell me the name on the credit card that was used. They did say they would email the sender and let them know that we would like to know who gave it to us so we could thank them, but I never heard anything back. Then of course it got put in the guest room where it got lost in the sea of gifts so I forgot about it. But I pulled it out today and thought I would post it, like a missing pet poster, to see if the sender, or anyone else who knows who sent it, could let us know so we can thank them personally.
If we never do find out, then I will send a thank you out to the unknown...
Thanks, Jacob will love it! :)

31 weeks

This was my last week of work. I am still going to do some part time work for my boss out of the office here and there which is fun. I had a great time at Clive Christian/Julian's and am thankful for 14 months of working there, but I am more excited to start my new job as a stay at home mother to Jacob and hopefully more children down the road.
In the next few months before Jacob arrives I have a full plate. Along with helping my boss a few days a week with her two precious boys I am going to pack up most of our apartment, find house to move to that is closer to where Trav's office is moving too, and then start setting up a nursery. I am looking forward to it. We were joking that we have pictures of me at each week but none of Travis. So, this is our 31 week picture together. :)
-Our baby-
We love you Phoenix!

Travis' Chair :(

So this is the famous chair I was referring to earlier. This was once a nice computer chair. But, our precious angel, in her boredom, took up the hobby of gnawing it to pieces while we are away. We will come home and find evidence of her work from the pieces of chair shrapnel left on the floor from the padding in the arm. I have even used black duct tape to try and make it more presentable and hopefully get her to stop, but she ate right through it. As soon as I am done working, this chair is leaving - we have only kept it this long to give her something to do. GUILTY!!!!!!

Our guest room now~

Well, this is our guest room now after all the showers. As you can see it is loaded up with gifts for Jake and a few boxes that I have put in there for moving. I plan on packing when I stop working. The biggest item is our stroller which is in the living room because there is no room in here. We have to keep everything in our guest room because our little darling Phoenix is a chewer and we don't want her chewing anything in her unsupervised time. (Wait until you see what she has done to a chair we have. She is as bad as a puppy!) So, my nesting urges are being suppressed at the moment until we find out where we are moving. I have been able to wash a few clothes, blankets, burp clothes, and socks and store them in the plastic bins so that if Jake were to arrive early we are a little ready. It's a good thing we don't have an guests coming any time soon.
