State Fair of Texas

Wednesday afternoon Travis took a half day and we went to the fair. My mom watched Eli so we could have more freedom. The weather was perfect! The kids were so excited even though they had never been before and didn't really know about the fair. Here they are waving to Big Tex or the "big man" as they kept saying.Travis and I had date night plans later that night so we didn't want to fill up on all the junk food, but we did sample some fried cookie dough. Jacob didn't want any and I thought it was just okay. Daddy and Paige loved it. Then we made it to the kids area:After the first ride Karla and Dustin met up with us with Noah, Haley, and Dylan. Paige and Jacob were so happy to have their friends. Paige said to me-"Haley is my best friend!" SO sweet. The girls were laughing and squealing with joy.Baby Dylan watching from the sidelines.Yay- we got a good picture of us too!Little Hands On the FarmBaby Dylan had a diaper catastrophe so we took the 4 big kids on rides while Dustin and Karla got all cleaned up. Literally!Time to go already? Paige was wanting more rides.

9 Month Check Up

Poor baby has another bad ear infection. I was suspecting it. That's 2 in one month, I am going to predict tubes for his future.
He is a healthy 26.13 pounds (off the chart), height 30.5 inches (97%) and his head was 19 inches (off the chart).
The doctor did a vision check and she sees his right eye is still crossing a little but since he is already in the care of an eye doctor we are just going to watch it. He got his flu shot- which Jacob was very protective of him, making me very proud. He is on another antibiotic and she will see him again in a few weeks. We are staying on the alimentum formula for now but I can start some dairy table food to see how he does. Fingers crossed that he can stomach dairy.

9 Months Old

Oh my goodness...I can't believe our baby is nine months. It goes so fast from here. Next he will be walking holding onto things then walking. Crazy. Eli is a perfect son. We are so smitten with him. I love, love, love my blond haired blue eyed baby boy.How can you not be crazy about this boy???He is very busy! Grandma babysat for just him the other night, no other kids, and he kept her plenty busy. He is everywhere: pulling up, climbing stairs, going down steps, crawling super fast...very busy. I think he has to have burned some calories doing it too. I am curious to see how much he weighs tomorrow at his 9 month check up.His ear infections healed great but he is still tugging at his right ear. He has allergies right now so I am curious about the ears too. More on that tomorrow. His reflux has gotten better. He doesn't seem to spit up near as much as he used to. I am guessing being off his belly has helped a lot with that. As soon as he is walking we are having our carpets professionally cleaned. Yes...his spit up was that bad. we have spot stains everywhere. He is such a mama's boy still. Will cry if he hears my voice or if I walk by without taking him with me. He also has a favorite stuffed animal. His blue dog, which is not pictured in this post, but he really does favor that toy. He will take it with him, chew on the ear, cuddle it, cry if he can't reach it, and get excited when you hold it up. It's fun for me to see him love it because our other kids didn't do that with a toy.Still just the two teeth...no signs of any others right now.He is still getting up at night for a 5:00 am bottle! He was sleeping through but then he got the ear infection almost a month ago and he has been up every night since then. Thankfully he eats and goes right back down until 7:30 or 8 then just takes food for breakfast. Then he takes a bottle around 10:15, naps until 12:10, eats at 12:30ish, bottle at 3:30 then another nap (unless he falls asleep in carpool) then dinner, then a last bottle at bed time which is 7:30-8.I love this picture. He didn't like the feeling of the grass on his feet at first. He is a pro at frowning. I love it. I laugh every time. He does it at the best moments too.We added his step stone to the yard and the kids love pointing it out along with theirs. He is talking a lot too. He seems to stick with three letter sounds- M, B, and D. Ma ma ma, ba ba ba, da da da. It's so fun to hear his baby language. He also waves with a full arm instead of just his hand, but we don't mind.He doesn't like church childcare or babysitters if he sees me leave. Separation anxiety is no fun with any baby. I hate it too for him.He loves balls, especially the toy golf balls. He loves his bath time and he is very busy- almost dangerous in the tub. It is an in and out process because I can't keep him still and he is too big for the chairs. He hates taking medicine. He loves cheerios and puffs. He hates sitting in his high chair if he isn't interested in eating. My other kids liked their high chair but he can't wait to get down and crawl around.
I will post his doctor appointment stats tomorrow. Until then, he is just dum-diddly- perfect in my book. We love him so much.

Pumpkin Patch 2010

One of our favorite events of the fall is the pumpkin patch.Eli was a little unsure about being plunked down in the grass, but he warmed up quickly to all of it.Getting a good picture of all three is always a challenge...
SO much fun. I am sure we will be back again before November.
