Easter 2011

Easter morning came bright and early, and after a long night too. But the baskets were filled and eggs were scattered to greet the kids as they came down stairs.Eli slept in a little, no surprise after the very late night he had. So we let Jacob and Paige dig into their baskets while Eber got a few extra z's. Paige was very excited to see the big chocolate bunny.Jacob got a light saber- perfect timing after just being introduced to Star Wars this week.He was making the sounds....Then Daddy pulled out a surprise- another light saber so that Jacob could have a Jedi battle. Then Eli joined us and the big kids were so sweet with him.Eli going straight for the ball-Loving it but then Jacob pulled out the cookies from his basket to show him and he was locked in on those.Sitting down and wanting to open them up and eat them. Then it was time to find the eggs. Jacob was ready to skip the egg hunt and dive into one of the lego toys he got in his basket but Paige and Eli found them.Clearly Eli has a while before he becomes a Jedi, but the interest is already there. We didn't make it to church for a few reasons, but we did repair the fence that the storm hit hard the night before. Jacob was Daddy's helper.I went closer to get a picture and Jacob wanted me to back up because fixing the fence was just for boys. Ok!Eli is still doing good. his spot on his head is still puffy and looks sore but he was in a good mood all day.
We got stuff done and I got a nap before it was time to go celebrate Uncle Daniel's birthday. Sadly, I forgot my camera, but we were so glad we got to celebrate with him on his birthday.

ER on Easter Eve

Sweet Sweet Eber... he took this table down to the ground tonight and it all came down on his forehead. SO scary and so sad. After the initial injury, he seemed fine. But, it was 8 at night, it's a heavy table, and his head wasn't swelling that much considering how hard it came down on his head...so we ended up in the ER.
He had a blast. I got there about 8:30 and we got home at 10:00 and he was really happy right up until the end of the wait to go home. Look at this bump:The line on the head is from the ledge of the table...This little basket with the most random diaper bag toys was the life saver of the ER visit. He would take them one by one out of the basket and them one by one put them back. We would bounce the bouncy balls and laugh . He did so good.

The result- since he was acting fine the doctor didn't think we needed the CT scan. Unless he starts acting differently, vomiting, or gets a soft spot on the injury site we will assume it is all okay. We are watching him at home.

Easter Weekend

Thursday-
We had a sudden change of plans this weekend. Trav's grandmother was having a difficult time with her health this week and was in the ER twice in one week. Thankfully she is okay but it was going to be easier on Grandma and Papaw if they could stay home to be close to her if she need them.
So, instead of Grandma, Papaw, and all of Val's family coming up to see us for Easter, we went to them. We got in Thursday night, just in time to play in the back yard with Mere Mere!Papaw locks up the dogs while the kids are outside, but I think Eber would have liked to have them out with him."Say Cheese Girls"Travis now thinks Jacob is ready to learn about Star Wars. What better weekend to tell him about it than this weekend when Grandma could pull out all of Trav's old, I mean original, SW figures. It was so cool! It brought back so many memories for both Travis and I.Each one was so cool. with the weapon and plastic cape...SO fun! Then Val and Jason came by with Abbey and they jumped right on to memory lane too. Us four adults were having way more fun than anyone else in the room.Jacob didn't want to put down the water cup.Good Friday-
Abbey slept over and Paige was glued to her the whole day.We ran errands, Travis visited his grandmother, and just hung out.Saturday-
We spent the day at Val and Jason's before having to get back on the road.Val had an amazing Easter meal all planned out.Paige was so happy to play with Tink dog.Time for the Egg hunt! This was Eli's first time to find eggs. He got about 6.Jacob and Paige were pros and raced with the big kids finding lots of eggs.Eli was getting tired but he got a second wind and did great. All the eggs are gone. The guys-Papaw was getting Eber.Jason helping Val in the kitchen, cutting the lamb. The happy cook. Everything was delicious!!! I told Val she could open a restaurant. This balloon was the top toy for the weekend for Melissa, Paige and Eli. Endless fun.We got on the road at about 2 and got home to have Easter Day at our house.
