Ending the Week

Well, our first week of school and week of Travis home is over. In addition to the great memories, we also have colds that Jacob picked up and brought home to all of us. Paige and Eli came down with it Friday night and Travis and I woke up with it today. Fun! "Welcome back to school- here is the first set of germs for the year." Oh well... we enjoyed a nice summer break from sickness while we had it.
Paige met her teachers on Friday since she starts her Wednesday school this coming week. Grandma and Papaw also came up for the weekend. Travis was helping my parents move on Saturday so he didn't get as much time with them, but they got lots of undivided Jacob, Paige, and Eli time while they were here.I love how the kids were crawling all over Papaw here as he was reading.

8 Months Old

Sweet Eber- short for Ebenezer- is 8 months old. (I know we have the silliest nicknames for him, but they all seem to fit. We gave him the nickname Ebenezer for when he fusses. Paige will say it really funny- Ebenezer sneezer! So cute.) He is so sweet and good. Very busy- wanting to crawl and pull up on everything. He is such a lovable addition to our lives everyday. Look- I finally got a picture of his two front teeth:"Like Father, Like son", could these boys look more alike? I wonder if Eli is exactly what Travis was like as a baby. Laid back and happy. He may look like Daddy, but he likes his Mommy! As busy as he is, he would sit on my hip all day long if I could hold him. Most of the time he is crawling after me so that I will do just that. He said "Da Da" yesterday for the first time, but not at Daddy. Just babble. He is doing great with PT- his crease is looking better and better. He also is really interested in Phoenix. He crawls after her and is able to sneak up on her a few time. It's really cute. I just weighed him with our home scale and he is weighing 27 pounds. Still a chunker, or tons of fun as I like to say.
Here is a fun video of a game he loves to play in the kitchen with a toy golf ball.

First Day Of School- 2010

Jacob started school today. Travis took the week off work and we made the family trip for this very special day. I had to post all three pics in front of the school because they were all so funny to me. It's blazing hot, blindingly bright, lots of cars...my poor kids (and Hubby) were all good sports about my mandatory photo opt. I love how Sissy is blocking the sun from her face and Eli's hair is blowing in the warm breeze.Jacob showing off his new super cool shoes-Finally a winner. Walking to his room-It was busy at his class door so we didn't take any more but he went in great! Sissy was sad to leave without him. She kept sadly saying she wanted Jacob to come home with her. We offered a "shakemilk" to ease the separation, and it worked. She went down for a nap and I got alone time with just E-baby in the middle of the day for a first time since school last year.
Such a cute stinker. And, Jacob had a great first day.

Big Kiss

Why is it Daddies are so much more fun and creative than mommies? Travis is the best! He comes up with the simplest games that the kids laugh themselves into stitches at. I love it. One example is the Big Kiss game he plays with Paige. He will ask her if she wants a big or little kiss (she always asks for a big kiss) and then gives her the opposite. It so funny to watch how tickled she gets with it. I also like her silly/evil face she give Eli at the end. Classic Paige.

Danger Zone

Eli is in that Danger Zone phase of babyhood right now. He is climbing and pulling up on everything but still is falling in the process since it's all so new. His poor head gets bonked constantly. This is his new favorite jungle gym: my end tables. I can't keep the boy away from them. He does really well with them but there are times he gets stuck and needs to be pulled out only to crawl right back over to them.Side shoot of his voluptuous body. Love it!And when he clears the first one, alas there is another one! Endless fun.Short video:

Silliness, Standing, & Stairs

The kids have been so silly lately. Thankfully I have had my camera handy to catch it. Here is Paige on Sunday playing in Eli's exersaucer. Then today they were hamming it up with toy glasses and big hugs.I love Eli's surprised face here:Ahh...that's a keeper:And look who has been pulling up and standing these past few days:So tickled with himself:And he is good at getting up the few steps from the hall to the playroom, even if Sissy is in the way:

In case you needed an Eli fix, here you go. Brace yourself for some cuteness! This is one of his favorite toys. He loves this sword.Quick sad face, but he really only fussed for maybe 15 seconds.BTW- Jacob was wearing these pj's at 16 months! I liked a friends description of him: Massive.Oh, Eli...I can't get enough of you! And I finally got a video of the sound he does all the time. He rolls his tongue and it is so funny.
