Jacob had his 6 month check up today. Our guy weighed 18.7 pounds (50%) and is 27 inches (75%) and his head measured 17 and a half (75%). He had to get 3 shots which made him sad and then really mad. Daddy had the day off so he was able to go too. Because he dropped in his percentiles the doctor said to go ahead and start food even though he had said earlier to wait because he is still getting over being sick. He said he wasn't worried that Jake wasn't getting enough to eat, he is obviously growing, but... just to be sure.
I have to brag too, when we told him that Jacob was able to go from his tummy to a sitting up position on his own he said that was "
impressive"! He told us to start cereal tonight which surprised me because I know you are supossed to start it in the mornings so you can watch for a reaction, but that's what we did. Plus Jake was up for a few hours after he ate and was doing fine, crawling around trying to catch Phoenix.
He has no signs of teething, they "
aren't even close" to be exact. But Trav's mom said her babies were very slow in getting teeth so Jacob is probably copying daddy.

He also said Jacob is at the age where he can now have water so we put some in a cup for him. I had to help him and he didn't get a lot, but the sips he did get he seemed to like.

We had our video camera out to capture Jacob eating cereal and he did great. He didn't make any faces like we expected. He was a natural. It was like he had been eating cereal for weeks.

Phoenix is front and center in case Jacob wants to share. She's anyones best friend when it comes to food. Jacob liked that.

After a while he had a coughing fit-part of his recovery from croup has been a lovely cough, and that made him choke up and turn red- scared me of course. We gave him some water to help but he didn't act to interested in eating after it. Then the funny faces came out.

Poor guy, we will see how he does tomorrow!
