This post is by Travis - Jacob went to his first gymnastics birthday party on Saturday for a classmate and friend of his, Caroline, whom turned 3. All of the kids had a blast.
I originally wanted to label this post "Why We Will Hold Jacob Back In His First Year of School" but was overriden by she who shall remain nameless. Why would I want to title this post as such? See below for the answers.
Alas, the first picture shows my dear son waiting patiently in a line. Wait a tick, he seems to be looking not at the teacher of the class who is shouting the instructions (you know legal liability stuff that a 2 year old needs to know) but instead back at something else.

Same story. Maybe there is something more interesting on the kid's shirt in front of him. Side note, that is not too straight of a line...F for the Teacher.

Okay, next picture. Yet again, looking away from the teacher. Only this time, the kids have been asked to line up in a circle...and Jacob is in the middle of the circle.

Jacob is still in the middle of the circle. Only now he is standing up. There are 2 other kids standing up as well but had I taken this picture 15 seconds earlier, Jacob would have been the only one standing up...they followed his lead.

Middle of the circle, standing up and turned away from the teacher.

These pictures look innocent enough. Jacob was doing a great job playing with the parachute. Prior to this picture but after they had been raising the parachute up and down, the teacher asked the class to hold the parachute down and wait patiently while she put balloons in the middle. Jacob is the only kid to leave his post behind and dash out into the middle. Lt Winters would not be happy. They also raised the parachute high into the air and he is the only one to dash underneath. I recall jumping underneath the parachute catching my son by the foot to pull him back on his stomach as they were lowering the parachute.
Jacob, I loved the time with you today young man. I had a blast watching you play. Love you - Daddy.
