Translation

Paige: "I want to go get a shake milk with my octomoose!"

Translation: I want to go get a milk shake with my octopus.

We get so tickled with her vocabulary.

From Back to Tummy

Eli rolled over tonight from his back to his front! He is so big and strong. We got so tickled with him and his smile from our cheering was so sweet. He did lots of rolling and here are a few pics and a video:I just love this picture...it's so funny to me.

4 Months Old

Sweet E Baby- Happy four months. You are perfect. Happy as can be. Just deliciously cute. We are head over heals in love with you.
Here's what you are doing: rolling from tummy to back. Almost rolling from back to side. Inching forward on your tummy like a caterpillar- butt in the air and everything- trying to scoot closer to me. Turning in complete circles on your tummy. Grabbing and chewing on toys or lovies. Chewing on your hand a lot. You are already working on sitting up, holding it for up to 5 seconds, and if you are on your back or sitting back, you are always trying to pull up. You are still really strong for your age and have great head control. All the work you get because of your torticollis is really helping you get stronger faster. You are not a huge pacey lover like your siblings were. Still taking naps if we get in the car. Still taking 6 ounces at a feeding. Still getting up every night for a feeding. (Which the dr says you don't need.) You coo and baby talk all the time. Laugh. And give great big warm smiles. Like I said, you are yummy. You had your check up today and wowed the office. The doctor said she didn't even recognize you when she walked into the room. (She also said she was tempted to take his picture with her iPhone to show people, but didn't.) Your stats are: head- 17.5 (95%), height- 26 inches (90%) and weight is a whopping 20.1 (off the chart!). You are a very big boy! It's wonderful too, because when Eli had his newborn screen tests done he got a positive result for cystic fibrosis. So they re-tested it, and it came back negative. The doctor told us she was going to trust the negative result and hope it was a false positive, but just in case she would always watch him for any symptoms. CF babies are weak, lose weight, and sick babies. Eli is very healthy and clearly gaining weight, so another confirmation that things are good. Praise the Lord! You are looking great and developmentally right on track. Your torticollis is getting better, and your head has rounded off nicely where the flat spot was starting. We feared you were needing a helmet but both the doctor and your PT think you won't need it. HUGE PRAISE! You got 4 shots and a drink- so sorry. Plus we left with 6 sample can of formula, which we are very grateful for.
On an odd note- his circumcision has given us grief here and there since birth really. Nothing big, but issues I never had with Jacob. I showed it to the doctor again today and she said he has a little bit of yeast right now from the issue and that if it continues we might want to re-do his circumcision! WHAT?????? Are you kidding me??? Who has to get two circumcisions??? That sounds like torture. SO, guess what we are adding to our prayer list. Feel free to join us.And we finally got your room set up. I need to replace the photos in the frames but it is all in place. You sleep in your crib at night and do really well. I just love having it all in order. Paige still has the white crib so we gave you the brown set. Here it is:
We love you sweet baby boy! XOXO

Go Spurs, GO!!!

Travis grew up in San Antonio and is a loyal fan of the Spurs. So much so that when we were first married, we had a conversation that went as follows:
Andrea- "Honey, do you love me more than the Spurs?"
Travis- "Baby Love...I've known you for a year, where as the Spurs and I go way back."
His love for the Spurs is real. So, even though I was a Mavs fan, I am now a Spurs fan by marriage. And naturally our kids are being heavily persuaded as well, despite Uncle Robert's objections. Here is Jacob at 9 months in his first Spurs outfit....
Pretty Paige at 4 months...And then Eli today in the same out fit Jacob is wearing, one day shy of 4 months. Plus- look how well he sat for a few seconds...me helping him.......letting go........on his own.
Spurs are doing good! Sorry Uncle Ra Ra.

Daniel's BD

Daniel turned 14 today and we were happy to celebrate with him. We all love Uncle Daniel.Eli getting some good Grandpa time.Sissy, seizing a quiet moment to play with the trains, all to herself, while Jacob jumped on the trampoline.Soon-to-be Uncle Andrew.Time for the kids favorite part...lighting the candles and singing happy birthday! They are watching as grandma lights the candles. In the video, Eli adds his own touch while Daniel blows out the candles.Sissy was so polite to help clean up grandma's house...Even helping with the dishes...
Happy Birthday Daniel!! We love you!

Trying to Sit

We are always working with Eli on strengthening his back and neck muscles (b/c of his torticollis) and trying to keep him off his back as much as possible. He is now great at tummy time but also rolls over constantly. So we have been working on sitting with him since he is so strong. He is doing really well, even more so when you consider he is not even 4 months yet. He does better when he has his "octomoose" (as Paige calls it) to fall onto.Very short video:

Windy Day

We headed to the park today while Daddy did lawn work. It was so windy that I had to dress the kids in pants and coats to make sure they weren't cold. It was fun. After lunch we brought Jacob's car seat in for adjusting. (Time to raise his straps again, his shoulders had just passed the line.He has lots more room now, as you can see.)
We also worked with him on buckling his seat belt himself. It was hard for him. His hands aren't very strong, it's part of his OT needs. So he got a little frustrated but was happy to be rewarded with Thomas videos for a job well done!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Trav's office had a social night at a baseball game for the families. I stayed home with E Baby, but Travis went and had fun with Jacob and Paige. Here is Paige with our friend (and Daddy's co-worker) Weston and his girl friend Katie. And yes- Daddy let her have a RC cola. Which of course she loved.
