"Stripies" ~

Trav's favorite pj's are Jacob's "stripie" pj's from Gymboree. They are so cute on him too. So naturally when I found the next 2 sizes up on sale I just couldn't resist. He will be in "stripies" for a while. We think he looks like a "Who" charachter from a Dr. Seuss book. :)

New Toy, Oh Boy!

Jacob got a new toy and blanket this weekend from Grandpa and Grandma Lamb. When I pulled all the pieces out Phoenix of course had to come check it all out. When she saw her reflection in the main piece mirror she got all scared and puffy. By the time I got my camera she had calmed down. I am sure she thinks this is for her and is going to be annoyed to see Jake in front of it. Here is the blanket a family friend made for him.
Look at how wet his outfit is... he is drooling so much!
Just waiting for daddy to finish putting it together.
Oh boy, I can see myself while I play with this toy...too cool!
He likes it!
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!

Sunday Brunch ~

This morning we went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe- You're still to little sit like a big boy.
Here Dad, use this card.
Just looking over the bill to make sure it's right for us.Busted you trying to swipe dads card!

Birthday Party ~

Last night we went to a birthday party for our friend Ken. It was so good to see everyone and catch up. Here's the birthday guy and Jacob. Jacob's eyes were fixed on all the candles, I guess he liked them! And he didn't get scared when everyone started singing to Ken.

Our friends Craig and Brooke, they just got engaged and are getting married March 24th.
Jacob was so great, especially with it being a late night. He didn't go to bed until 10:45. He is so good!

I just love his toes!

Jake's Phoenix Cat ~

We thought it would be cute for Jake to have his own little Phoenix cat stuffed animal to carry around and play with that looked like his real Phoenix cat. Grandma found one and brought it up to Dallas for Jake when we were there. So far Jake really likes it, which is good because the real Phoenix doesn't want anything to do with him. Here's our Phoenix, and here is Jakes Phoenix.

1 Year Ago Today ~

A year ago today we took the pregnancy test and found out we were going to have Jacob.
I just knew I was pregnant, so as soon as we woke up that Wednesday morning I tested and sure enough it came back positive. Travis was in disbelief and wanted to test again. Thankfully it was a twin pack and we had another test with us. I tried to explain to him that there was no false positives while we waited for the second test to finish up, but he wanted to be sure. Still in surprise, or maybe shock, when the second test came up positive he asked me to see the doctor to get a blood test to confirm it all. So I did and the nurse congratulated me, since there are no false positives, and said she would call us on Friday to give the results. It was on our drive to Dallas for Jonathan and Allison's wedding that we got the blood results back confirming we were 4 weeks along. But for me, my life changed forever that Wednesday morning- one year ago today! Here is Jacob a year ago (at the wedding) and then today.
Thank you God for this wonderful child!

Daddy's Home ~

Travis got home last night, he had been out of town since Monday, and it was so good to have him back. Jacob really started laughing yesterday too so it was fun to show daddy when he got home.
Phoenix really missed him and is glad he is back too!

Matching Suspenders ~

Tonight Jacob and I met friends for dinner. I finally put him in his tiger suspenders that match his tiger onesie. Jacob has so many cute outfits that it is hard to wear them all, especially when they have to compete with favorite outfits. But anyway, he looked so cute in his little matching outfit! His hair kinda looks redish to me in these pictures.

Here's looking at you kid ~

Jacob loves looking at himself in the mirror. Even if he is fussy he will stop to check out the handsome boy looking back at him. I love his legs out behind him in this one.
Grandma got him some sock rattles while we were in Dallas so that his feet can entertain him.

This outfit is a hand-me-down from Jake's Uncles Daniel & Connor. I remember when my mom got this at her baby shower. Still cute!

Our Saturday ~

We had a good Saturday. It started with the Texas-Nebraska game, which was really close. Maybe a little too close because Travis was very nervous. But Texas ended up winning in the last minute- thank goodness. Jake was all excited about the game as you can tell. Look at him pulling himself up to a sitting-up position.
We love this outfit on him.
Watching the game in the man room with daddy.
Phoenix was a little jealous of all the attention Jacob was getting because when I turned around this is what she was doing behind me- which is the position she gets in when she wants to be petted or scratched.
Getting ready for bed in our matching baby blue.

Sleeping ~

Jacob doesn't seem to mind being on his tummy now. I put him down for an evening nap like always, expecting it to be the usual 30 minutes, and we had to wake him up after an hour. I guess he really likes sleeping on his tummy. (Both Travis and I are tummy sleepers too so I shouldn't be surprised.) Travis took this picture this morning when he got back from working out. This is our routine every morning, Jacob sleeps 9 hours a night, at 6 he eats and then sleeps next to me for 2-3 hours more. Travis likes leaving for work seeing us all, Phoenix too, like this.

She's Watching My Every Move ~

Phoenix is so funny. She follows me around a lot to see what I am doing- probably to see if I am going to eat anything as she loves to beg for bites. So this morning I was on the computer and I see her head pop up from behind the monitor. Her eyes look so evil. I laugh every time I see this picture and I had to make it our desktop background.

So Sad ~

For some reason Jacob got really sad earlier. I had just fed him and I had to pump, so like always I put him in his swing right by me. I guess he was emotional because every time I looked over at him he started to stick out his lower lip and start to cry. If I asked him what was wrong it made it worse. My camera was right by me so I took a picture of the pitiful face and he would smile. Then he would start all over again- lip, cry, camera flash, fine, repeat. So I got some great sad faces. Oh, they are all so sad looking. (This is my favorite)

You can see the tear rolling down the cheek.
When I finished I picked him up and he was fine the rest of the night. I guess he just really wanted to be held and got really sad that I wasn't holding him.

He Rolled Over!! ~

Well since Jacob doesn't like his tummy time he came up with a solution- rolling over!
Here is the play by play action, I was so proud!

He liked it when I would cheer for him when he made it over. He rolled over 7 times then crashed for a nap. All that rolling wore him out!
