Before 2009

Here are some random cute pictures that I thought I would post before 2009!
Cool lego tower! The kids enjoying there new table while having a snack during a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show. This is the only time we have done this, the table is over in the new playroom. All bundled up on a chilly Sunday walk. Ice Cream cones at Jason's Deli after church Sunday night.
Jacob had his last OT session this week. We are not going to continue it in 09, even though Jacob enjoyed his time there. Look how much fun it is-
This is my new favorite outfit on Miss Paigers!
The pants are a little long here because she was in a disposable. she needed the 18-24 months size in these because of her full bottom that the cloth diapers give her. So, she will be able to wear them for a while, which is good because I just love them!

2008 has been wonderful! We had so many new experiences to always remember and cherish.

A recap: There was the start of Jacob's speech delays and tons of hurdles we have had to jump with him, a relaxing and much needed Presidents Club trip to San Diego, Jacob's first trip to the ER, Paige's first trip to Disney World, Paige's helmet, 4th wedding anniversary getaway, first trip to the coast for the kids, Zach and Abbey's summer vacation with us, Jacob's 2nd birthday, Jacob starts school, Jacob's second trip to the ER and first hospitalization and more hurdles to jump with allergies, Great Grandpa going to Heaven, another trip to Disney World, Jacob's first surgery, the miracle of Jacob talking after getting tubes, time spent with family and friends, and Paige's first birthday!

And these are just the biggest ones; there are so many rich moments in between too. I am so grateful for my life. I have been so generously blessed beyond what I could ever have dreamed. Even in the sad more stressful times I see God's hand and breathe a sigh of relief that He is in control and will lead us through the storm. We have learned so much this year and I am sure we will learn more in the years to come. Keep checking in on us to see it all as it unfolds.

Happy New Year & God Bless!

Uncle Army Man

We got to see Uncle Ra Ra this week for two days. My brother Robert joined the Army National Guard and he got a short leave for Christmas. I was afraid that we would miss him since we were gone in San Antonio and sick, but thankfully it all worked out. He looks so great in his camos.
He left Saturday so we went to see him again and played outside in the wind while he got ready. Jacob loved being in Grandpa's truck.
The guys-

We will see Uncle Ra Ra in February for his graduation.

Christmas Week

We went to San Antonio for Christmas: Paige got to turn forward this time since she is a year and over 20 pounds! It is so fun to look back and see her looking forward. She likes it too!
Papaw's train and Christmas village collection- Jacob loved the train! There is a darling video of Jacob having fun with the train.
Abbey having fun with Paigers.
We love this picture! Unfortunately, it is a little blurry. But doesn't he look comfortable.
Papaw got out his winter hat because Jacob was wearing his hat, and we put it on Paige. She looks like a mushroom to us.
Jacob's so funny, he wore Daddy's hat several times this week. And one single white glove.
Here is the video of Jacob with the train:
Paige using a spoon...such a big girl.

Paige's Birthday

*Warning: this is a long post.*
We gave Paige her one birthday gift from us this morning. We are going to do a half BD for her in the summer since Christmas is next week. She and Jacob both liked this toy. It's a 5-in-1 toy that she is in the later stage. Right here it's a toy table and flips to a desk.
Paige is doing so great! She is super funny and very smart. We added up all the words she can say and it is a lot. I don't know if it's because she is a girl, the second child, or because we are talking so much to help Jacob (it could be all of them) but she says: mama, dada, hi, bye-bye (while waving), night-night, nana (for banana), Papaw, Gigi, RaRa, pepper, purple, blue, bowl, choo-choo, dog, duck, ball, nose (while pointing to your nose), no-no (while shaking her finger), baby, button (while finding someones belly button), uh-oh (when something falls down), Pooh, beep-beep, and the baby sign for milk. She also has her own style of the name Jacob and the name Phoenix- the way she says them is so funny. Jacob sounds like too-too, and Phoenix is a weird X sound, almost like she is going to spit.
She will also hold the phone up to her ear and makes noises or talks, she does the wolf cry which is so funny, and she will try to blow if you blow on her face. She gets very excited to take her bath and loves to be naked. She is still a great sleeper too.
She loves food and enjoys feeding herself. She has used a fork a few times; if we help her get it on the fork she will bring it to her mouth. Her favorites foods are anthing GiGi brings for lunch. She is pretty basic but whatever Jamie seems to have is what Paige always wants. Even pickles!
We decorated the kitchen for her birthday party later on. I don't think she noticed but Jacob did. He pointed to the balloons and tried to say "balloon", it was cute.
My little one year old...I love this picture!
Paige had her one year check up at 9:00 am. My Doctor said I was a mean mommy to schedule shots on her BD, but I like to know her stats on her day. Plus, she ended up with no shots after all.
The reason she didn't get shots is because she is sick. She has a little cold and on top of that she is going to take an antibiotic for her throat. Poor Paige ALWAYS has puss on her throat. At every well and sick visit her throat always looks bad. She is too young to have her tonsils out, needs to be 2 for most ENT's, but that is probably what she will need. The risk is scarlet fever or a staph infection. So, she is on a really strong and really gross antibiotic. The poor baby has to take 2 teaspoons twice a day! That's a big dose- plus it's super bitter. Poor baby. I think she would have rather had shots. Her Stats- weight: 21.8 (50%), height: 30 inches (75%), and head: 18 1/2 inches (95%!!!!). She grew almost 2 inches since her 9m check up and only gained a few ounces. Head stats at 9m were all 75%, so there is a big change. Her brain really grew too apperently...95th percentile...big head!
Later, we had family and a few friends over to celebrate.
Paige walking to Grandma.
She got a baby stroller as a gift.
Katie and Julia-
Paige was crying here because she wanted to get in the stroller.
So sad.
Paige and Shay-
Cade and Shay eating dinner.
Paige had pizza for the first time tonight. She liked it. We have been very slow with introducing foods since Jacob has food allergies. We introduced dairy at 9 months, but have held off on most berries, strawberries, eggs, and any tomato products. Figers crossed going forward.
We tried to get a picture of all the girls and it took a while. Haley is missing- she wasn't able to come to the party because she was sick today. We finally got one!
Birthday cupcakes time. (There is a video of us singing at the bottom.)
Aaron and Jill-
A few family pics-Walking-
Grandma and Jacob-
More walking-Here are short videos: the first is of her dancing, classice Paige.

And this one is of everyone singing Happy Birthday to Paige.
