The Big Three O!

Or the "dirty thirty" as I've heard it. No matter how you say, I turned it today. I don't feel 30 years old and it's really weird to think I am not in my twenties any more. Regardless though- it was a great birthday! Paige's gift to me was sleeping through the night so I woke up at 7:50 in shock! Thanks Paigey Pooh! Then I got a mocha and chatted with my good friend Maia for an hour and a half- what a treat! I also went shopping and found lots of great things and they were all on sale-even better! And to end it all, we all had dinner with my family- it was both yummy and fun. Paige is back in her band and this time it is all decorated for her. I love it when she holds on to her toy.
Jacob and Grandma.
Uncle Daniel- look how happy Paige is...she makes me laugh.
She fell asleep so nicely too for her evening nap- no fussing or anything. Another birthday gift from her. I love the UT stickers on her band. The horn heads have daddy's number on them from when he played. She also transferred to my arms from daddy's and stayed asleep for a while. That is so rare!
After the family sang to me, we had some cake. (Paige stayed asleep during the song too!)I didn't want to get chocolate cake on her so I put my napkin over her.
Then she woke up and was so social and visited with her Uncle Connor.
Poor Jacob is cutting three teeth, which is good because he only has seven. But the two top are the molars and the third is the last bottom front. Poor guy as a snotty nose from it and was pretty fussy along with hungry. But once he ate he got much better.

Hanging with Uncle Jeff...

aka Memorial Day weekend in San Antonio. We headed down Thursday night so we had 2 and a half days with our family. We went down for Paige's naked baby pictures and to see everyone. Jacob likes the baby walker just like the exersaucer at our house, but he needed help getting out of this one.
Friday evening everyone came over and it was so much fun. Paige played with her cousins Emma and Meredith.
Meredith is 1 year younger than Jacob and 5 months older than Paige- a perfect age for all three of them to be friends.
Allie with Paige.
Paige with her Uncle Jeff. All the babies love Uncle Jeff. Earlier that day at lunch Jacob's face lit up when he saw him. Jacob loves all his uncles so much. (video at the end)
Abbey helping Meredith take a walk.
If you'll notice Jacob matches his uncle Jeff- some how I forgot to get a picture of them together! But here is Jacob out back (his favorite place to play at Grandma and Papaws house) with Daddy, Auntie Val and her boyfriend Jason, and Jason's daughter Melissa.
Saturday morning we took the famous naked baby pictures. Jacob had his done when he was 5 and a half months as well. Some of you may remember the famous photo shoot where Jacob pooped, peed three times, cried, snotted, and spit up. He did everything but bleed as we like to tell people. But- as dreadful as it was all the pictures were wonderful and now it was Paige's turn. She did great! She kept all bodily fluid inside too. Here we are in the studio- you can see a little bit of the style with Paige naked in a bowl with flowers in her hair.
The naked baby pictures are a family tradition for all the grand babies. Beverly Adams is the photographer and she is in the process of getting a website up where you can see her work. She is so talented and we love her pictures. I love Paige's devilish smile with her.
Later Saturday afternoon, we hung out with Jeff and Leslie and the kids. Jacob is so cute- I love how he plays right in the middle of the table with Papaw.
Paige and I with Leslie and Meredith. Look at that cute smile Mere-Mere has.
Future best friends I hope. We are so excited to see how much fun they will have together.
Later that night we took Paige to Krispy Kreme for the first time. Even though she couldn't eat anything I think she had fun. Meredith and Jacob enjoyed it and Jacob ate enough for both him and his sister.
Allie with her daddy and Travis. Both Travis and Allie have a birthday coming up on the 1st! Paige making raspberries. That's her new thing and she is very good at it. It's so cute to watch.
Travis has a new favorite game- Guitar Hero! He and Jeff played it all weekend. Travis said his fingers hurt Saturday morning from playing for hours on Friday with Jeff and the kids. I was terrible at it. I am sure I will have time to improve since that is what Travis wants for his birthday now.
I played with Smokey- the kids pet hamster. He was so cute! Travis didn't think so and called him a rat so I put him on his shoulder. I think hamsters are so cute.
Paige was so good- she slept while Leslie and I watched the boys play their games.
Sunday we all got together again at Great Grandma's for a big lunch and pool party. We were only there for a little bit before getting on the road but it was fun seeing everyone. Jacob had fun playing with Allie with the blocks.
Grandma and Papaw with the babies. I wish I had taken more pictures but we got to eating and then had to head out. But Emma and Allie brought a birthday cake to the party and sang to me since my birthday is Tuesday. They are such angels and the cake was yummy. Thanks Girls!
When we got back I came in to find Phoenix, in her boredom or rebellion, had chewed up Paige's bumbo seat! I am so mad at her. She had plenty of food so it was just because she didn't want us to be gone. What a rat! I guess it is better that than the couch, but still!
Here is a video of Uncle Jeff playing with Paige. It is hard to hear Paige laughing but she was, his mustache was tickling her. For some reason the video posted at the bottom but this is from Friday.

Bad Band!

Poor Paige got a sore spot from her band that got infected. It's on her right side burn area so she can't wear her band for a few days until it heals. We got her band all decorated though with pretty stickers so it is ready for her when she can wear it again. Here are some pics at the doctors office. She loves looking at herself in the mirror. You can see the sore spot next to her ear in the bottom picture.
She got weighed and is up to 16.3! She just gets bigger and bigger.

Jacob was all over the place and wouldn't sit still. He also loves checking out the mirror. Yesterday he was holding the letter "A" and as I walked by I said "A" and her repeated it. I was shocked. We try to get him to repeat anything so when I wasn't expecting it he did it. Then he said "B"! What a shock- both "A" and "B" back to back. We were very happy.

5 Months Old

Our baby girl is 5 months old today. Precious Paige...she is so wonderful. I can't imagine my life or family with out her. I am constantly thanking God for surprising us with her. She is a perfect gift. As you can see she is sitting up so nicely. I think we should be able to get some good pictures next weekend. I can't plop her on the floor and walk away but she is able to hold it for a while. I am so glad too because Jacob was sitting up for his pictures so it will be nice to have some of her in the same pose.
She is the biggest mama's girl ever! She always has been, but I think her cord has grown back that's how attached she is to me. It can be difficult to plan a short trip anywhere with out her because she can get so worked up and then is fine when she is with me.
She looks just like her daddy I am told. She is also still a princess! So far, she owns the title Miss Priss for a reason! She is quick to let you know when something is not perfect. It reminds me of the "Princess and Pea". She has fussed about her band a little today, I hope she gets used to it soon. We all are not comfortable with it yet, but I know it is hardest for her. I have yet to decorate it. This picture below is classic Paige- she is ALWAYS eating her hand! I haven't felt any teeth yet but man, she drools and eats her hand about 10 hours a day. Maybe more.
She is still not sleeping through the night. no matter what time she eats last, she is getting up about 4. Her pacifier will put her back to sleep and she is fine until morning but that's what she is doing. Maybe we will try cereal soon. Our Pediatrician said she didn't need it a month ago but we may try it now since she is on all formula. She is also inching along on her tummy. We put her down one way and come back to find her some where else and in a different position. She can roll over from her front to back (has been since 3 weeks old) and is half way from her back to her front. She has a darling laugh and startles very easily. It's very funny.
We went to the park today- it was so pretty out side. It was supposed to be a birthday party we were going to but we didn't make to party cancellation email list! We drove all the way out to Coppell (on time too) and looked around for the party and birthday boy. Oh well- we had fun at the park and then drove all the way back home. It was Jacob's first Birthday party since we've been in Texas and I had been telling him all about what to expect. I'm sure when we got there he was thinking we could have just walked across the street to the park by our house, but maybe he didn't know what we were really going to anyway.
Fun with Daddy.
And of course, what Jacob does best- pushing Paige in the stroller.

Paige's new look

Well, for now that is. I need to decorate it later. But...she is in her new band. I always thought they were called helmets but since it is open at the top they are called bands. She is fortunate that she should only have to wear it for 7 weeks. I always hated these things for babies, and was not thrilled to hear Paige needed one, but we are embracing it now. It will help make her head perfect and she looks just darling in it. I love this picture. The band is a learning process for us all right now but we hope the time will go by fast. She has to wear it 23 hours a day.

My New Favorite Picture

22 Months

Wow...22 months old today! Only 2 more months until he is 2 years old. Jacob is such a love. He got a hair cut on Friday and I think he looks so G.Q. He has had some really good days with his talking. He will randomly repeat some words we say, and gets so tickled with himself when we cheer for him. But for the most part, he is not talking that much. He should be putting two words together at 24 months...we will see.
We went over to my parents house to give Grandma her Mother's Day gifts and play. Instead of a card we gave both Grandma's a photo banner that says "Happy Mother's Day Grandma". They both loved it. I took pictures of the kids holding each letter and strung it all up and it turned out so cute. Here is a picture of Grandma under her banner.
Jacob loves Blue's Clues and his favorite part is the mail box song. So, he loves playing with Mail Box at Grandma's house and we all sing the song. He gets so excited.
Here he is while we sing to him.
He also loves to play outside. He is so good with sports already. I think he is natural athlete like his mother. (That is a joke to everyone who knows me. Obviously he gets it from Travis.) He runs so fast and can throw a ball pretty good. Here he is doing both at the same time.
Jacob is such a sweet heart too. He is a big Mama's boy and will sit with me whenever he can and will come get my hand to come play with him. He is also a guys guy. He loves his Daddy, Papaw, Grandpa, and uncles. Both Grandma's try not to get their feelings hurt when he races by them for the Grandpa's. It's funny to us. Don't get me wrong- he can be a flirt, but he gets more excited about being with the guys. We have so much fun with him.
