Port Aransas
We spent an extended weekend at Mustang Island (Port Aransas) with Trav's brother and family. The guys have a friend with a condo on the beach and we have a blast when we go. We took our first trip to PA with Jeff, Leslie, Emma, and Allie back in 2005, before our kiddos and Meredith were born. So it was fun to have our second family trip with our families together. I wish we would have gotten a group pic though!
We go to the coast on Thursday afternoon after diving to San Antonio the night before. We wanted to break it up so it wasn't such a long day in the car for the kids.
Both kids did great but feel asleep the last 20 minutes of the ride. Not much of a nap for the day.
The first day we just got settled and then went down to one of the pools at the condo.

The babies did really well at the condo, especially considering it is not kid friendly. Leslie and I moved several things up high because Meredith has started walking and Jacob is into EVERYTHING. But the three babies played great together on the floor and Emma and Allie played with them too. It's so fun to see Jacob and Paige playing with cousins.

After breakfast and the first layer of sunscreen we headed to the beach. I love this picture of Paige and Mere Mere on the blanket. Classic!

Jacob did much better in the sand this time. When we went to San Diego last summer he HATED the sand. There is a video at the bottom: at first he didn't like it but we made him stick it out and he warmed up to it great.

This was Paige's first time to be on a beach.
Climbing over the seaweed to get to and from our blanket.
It was windy and our beach umbrella blew away! Travis, Leslie, and a stranger all ran to catch it while I recorded to moment for you to see. Because the wind was so strong Travis had a difficult time getting it back to our spot. I laugh every time I see these pics.

Jeff and Meredith went back up to the condo for Meredith's nap. It was so nice that the condo is right on the beach. Paige started to get tired but I knew she was only going to take a 20 minute nap, and by the time I walked back to the condo and got comfortable she would wake up. So I just sat in Leslie's truck while she slept. She slept hard too, and then was up 20 minutes later.
So back to the beach we went. We did see two jelly fish while we were there but thankfully nobody was stung.
Allie finding shells.
Emma too. The girls played so well in the sand with Jacob.

Jacob played the whole time in the sand. He had it everywhere- even in his ears.

All cleaned up and ready for naps.

After dinner we went over to see a friends boat. The kids liked going in the cabin below and sitting on the seats.

At night we all played Rock Band. We brought our system with the mic, 2 guitars and drums. It was so fun!

Saturday, our last day, we did both the beach and the pool. In that order too.

We were all sandy so we went up to the second condo pool and played in the water. Jacob loved being tossed back and forth. There is a video below, which is Jacob's new favorite video to watch.
Leslie and Mere Mere.
We drove back to San Antonio Saturday night and spent the night and Sunday morning with Grandma and Papaw. Auntie Val met us for breakfast on Sunday.
This is my new favorite dress on Paige. Plus, Tuesday is her last day in the band.
Both kids crashed for the car ride back. No surprise after such a late night with grandparents the night before. The last leg of the drive we let Jacob watch his Thomas video (his new fave) and I thought he looked so precious in his head phones. Sadly he wouldn't keep them on so he didn't end up watching his video after all.
Paige is the best road baby. She sleeps and smiles. I love sitting in the back with them.
