Christmas in Texas

We arrived in San Antonio on Dec. 16th- the start of our two week vacation. Trav's nephew Zach was the only cousin who had not yet seen Jacob. We spent the week in San Antonio and then headed to Dallas on Christmas Eve late-basically Christmas wee hours of the morning. Papaw, Zach and Jacob on the Harley.
Grandma had a walker with wheels saved for all her grandbabies, but Jacob's feet couldn't even touch the floor.
All Grandma and Papaw's grandbabies: Abbey, Emma, Jake, Allie and Zach.
A four generation Wood picture-Papaw, Travis, Jacob, and Great Grandpa Wood.
Abbey was the best little helper with Jacob. She wanted to spend every second possible with him.
Playing with the girl cousins.
We just love this picture of him.
All dressed up for family pictures.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Wood
Trav's mom has a tradition with every grandbaby to have "Naked Baby Pictures" with the mommies in pretty nightgowns. A photographer in San Antonio, Beverly Adams, is known for them. So, we had ours done this visit and oh my goodness was it an ordeal. Jacob was her first baby to poop while getting pictures. So, he pooped in our hands during the family pics (we carefully transported him to the bathroom so that poo didn't get anywhere in the white studio), peeed on Trav's shirt after we got all cleaned up, peed on Trav's second outfit, and threw up. Plus he was fussy from the allergies (the cedar was bad) so he was crying and had a runny nose. It was the longest 2 hours ever and I felt like it was a complete disaster. He did everything except bleed. But, Beverly is so good that all of them came out great! We had the hardest time choosing.
Phoenix went with us and stayed with Grandma and Papaw while we were in Dallas.
We took Jacob to Grandma's work so she could show off her newest baby to everyone. The other surgical nurses made him a little surgery hat too.
He crashed for a nap on Grandma's big soft pillows in the living room up against the couch.
Abbey and Zach.
Papaw set up the new baby swing for Jacob. (It was surprisingly warm in San Antonio for Christmas.)

We were able to get lunch with Nathan and Lisa since her family is also in San Antonio. We miss them so much!
Jacob started getting up on all fours and is rocking back and forth. He is ready to start crawling.

Sitting Up

Jake is doing great- he lasts about 45 seconds before falling over.
Notice Phoenix watching from a safe distance.

He spit up so we had an outfit change.

Looks Good in Red

I think red looks good on almost everyone. We are sitting up a lot too. Working on those back muscles to be able to (possibly) pose sitting up for pictures next week.

Thanks again Kimberly for the toy- he loves it!

5 Months

Our baby is five months old today. He is such a happy little guy. He just loves this "exersaucer" as we call it.
His Aunt Leslie got these bibs for him (3 of them that say his name) and I will be out with Jacob and a stranger will pass by and say his name and I am always caught off guard by it until I remember what he is wearing. Being silly for the camera already.

We are working on sitting up and he is doing really well.
But he didn't feel like sitting up. He kept wanting to squirm around.
It's so cute how Phoenix watches him play.
He is determined to put EVERYTHING in his mouth.
He is actually smiling really big here. He was laughing at me.
